G Gibson & Co Ltd have been producing tools for the Stone Masonry Industry for over 20 Years, originally producing just Scutch Combs and Hammer Wedges. An operation which began life in the Garage of the Directors now has its own built and owned factory situated on the edge of Garforth, Leeds, UK. Gibsons continue to manufacture Scutch Combs and Hammer wedges, but they have acquired other specialist hand tool companies and now produce Nylon Mallets, Dummy Hammers, Bushing Hammers, Punch Hammers, Lettering Hammers and other Stone working Hammers. Gibsons also acquired JG Faulds, Glasgow, and continue to produce the Faulds Type Stone Masonry Chisels (see J G Faulds Ltd).

This acquisition means that G Gibson & Co Ltd is the leading manufacturer of Stone Masonry Tools in the UK. G Gibson & Co Ltd have work in other fields of engineering, and the improvements in technology and equipment used in the engineering department only improves the quality of the tools they then produce.
Recently Gibsons have moved repetitive operations on some items to CNC equipment which improves tolerance, finish, and overall repeatable quality on the tools they manufacture. Pneumatic shafts are turned on CNC lathes, Claw tools are CNC milled and drilled for superb accuracy. All tools are still finish ground by hand retaining the quality of truly skilled Engineers to make sure every tool is as good as the next.

G Gibson & Co Ltd is still a family owned and run company, with a huge emphasis on customer service and quality. They have strong links with the learning and education facilities in the UK, meaning that many UK trained Stone Masons have experience with, and sometimes use exclusively Gibsons tools. They have even sponsored the UK entrants for the World Skills competitions in Stone Masonry.
Gibsons has customers as far as Brazil, Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand, all by word of mouth from UK trained Masons traveling and working abroad. Recently Gibsons have had an article written in the UK Stone Magazine, showing their demand and prowess in the UK market, and shortly will be appearing in the Australian magazine Discovering Stone.
